This week, we were excited to talk with the Headmaster from Thornton Academy in Saco, Rene Menard. We spoke about his almost three decades in education, Thornton Academy's recent award as Best Independent School in Maine, how the last year has affected education, what inspires him, and much more!



Rene Meanrd is the Headmaster of Thornton Academy, Maine's largest independent school.  Rene has spent the last 27 years working in education as a teacher, coach, dean of students, and Associate Headmaster before becoming Thornton's Headmaster in 2012.  Rene serves on the executive committees of the Maine Association of Independent Schools and lives on campus with his wife and two teenage children.
