This week, we had a chance to talk with the owner of The Great East Butcher Company, Tiffany Alvarado McKenna. We talked about how her time living in New York City sparked her interest in owning her own shop, how she supports other locally owned Maine businesses, how she's giving back to her community, inspiration, and more!

Tiffany has always dreamed of having a shop that sold locally made food, and local meat. She is excited to be the new owner of The Great East Butcher Company. A graduate of Colgate University, she spent the first 13 years of her professional career in New York City working in publicity for publishing, her last job being Director of Publicity for Thames & Hudson Publishing House. She is passionate about giving back to her community and serves on the board of Woodfords Family Services and the Marcia Brady Tucker Foundation, and is a proud member of the Portland Business Builders BNI group. She is a volunteer Striders running coach in Falmouth and volunteers teaching financial literacy with Junior Achievement. Her best accomplishment in life is being a mom to Tucker and Missy. She lives in Falmouth with her husband Rob, kids, and two beautiful Maine Coon cats named Dexter and Deb. She credits her success in this new field to the amazing support of her husband.
