This episode, we talked with Gina Martinez and Kylee Austin from River Winds Farm & Estate - a family-run event venue and horse farm in Saco, Maine. They tell us about what makes this home-turned-venue so special, how they got started, what they've learned in business, and much more.

River Winds Farm & Estate is an event venue and horse farm owned and operated by the Austin family. In 2013, the family began offering equine services and programs through Thornton Academy. Since 2017, they’ve hosted events, weddings, as well as self sponsored events like live music shows, comedy, dinner theater, and holiday festivities. They have also expanded their horse training facility to include boarding and horse shows in the stable and arena. Kylee joined her mother, Beth, in the family business as a teenager. As an avid horsewoman, she currently manages the Horse Arena and boarding services at River Winds. Gina’s many years of hospitality and dining services management, along with her lengthy experience in event management, make her a perfect fit to oversee events at River Winds. She has been in the hospitality industry her whole life, working in small family-owned restaurants, as well as large brand hotels.
